Our wonderful agency FINALLY received Lu Run Yi's file today! We had her birthdate wrong all this time, but they were successful in getting it anyway. I don't know how many times our facilitator has asked their China staff about her file. I know they feel just as excited as we do, for they have been working so hard to bring us together. For months we have been waiting for this day to happen...it is hard to believe it is really here. We have sent our Letter of Intent (LOI) to China, and now we will be waiting on PreApproval (PA). We hope to hear something soon!
While it was heartbreaking to read about how Run Yi was found, and wonder the circumstances of her birth family that lead them to this difficult decision, we are thankful for each piece we can gather from her past. The details are hard to imagine for such a little girl to endure. We also have a detailed timeline of her treatment, and now have information to believe that she has the same type of cerebral palsy as Graycen. A huge thank you to H and family for giving Run Yi this gift of a different life. I hate to think of her condition without their intervention through Love Without Boundaries. Her file was prepared in October, 2007. It is hard to understand why it would take so long for her to get to CCAA, but whatever the reason, she is now on her way home to her forever family--prayerfully, OURS!
We should know within a couple of weeks if we will receive PreApproval. More waiting, but somehow this seems easier, as we now feel there is so much hope that we will become her family.
